The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an action role-playing game that was developed and published in 2015 by CD Projekt. It is based on fantasy novels written by a Polish fantasy writer Andrzej Sapkowski called The Witcher.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the sequel to The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, released in 2011. The Wild Hunt had been in development for three and a half years and then was finally released for such platforms as Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Later, in October 2019 a version for a Nintendo Switch was also released.

The game was welcomed by the critics who pointed out the quality of the gameplay, story, design of the game world, combat, and visuals. They also criticized the game for some minor technical issues, but it wasn’t a big deal. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt received a lot of Game of the Year awards, and has been called one of the greatest video games that were ever made.

This is a third-person perspective video game that features an open world. Players have control over the protagonist named Geralt of Rivia, who is actually a monster hunter, a.k.a. the witcher. According to the plot, Geralt of Rivia is looking for his missing adopted daughter who is currently on the run from the Wild Hunt. The Wild Hunt is a mystical force that intends on capturing her powers and using them for their own needs.

Throughout the game, you’ll have to battle various dangers with your magic and weapons. You can focus on completing the main story, or you can focus on some side quests in order to gain the needed amount of experience points and gold. Later you can use these items to increase some of Geralt's abilities and purchase additional equipment.

There is a variety of weapons available, and the game features a great combat system. The main story actually has more than one possible ending, and it depends on the player's choices at specific points in the game. That is great as it increases the level of the game’s replayability. So you can play this game several times and each time you’ll end up with a different finale and a completely new experience.

From the player’s point of view, the game is really well-optimized. You can still play it even if your laptop is 5 years old. The graphics are of high-resolution and very detailed. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has a brilliant voice acting. You also have a possibility to skip the dialogs, if you read faster than the characters speak, which is very convenient.

Overall, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a real gem of 2015. It definitely stands out from the other role-playing games and it’s a must-have for the true RPG action and adventure fans.
