Secret Neighbor: Hello Neighbor Multiplayer review

Secret Neighbor: Hello Neighbor Multiplayer Horror Game is a surprisingly long name for the multiplayer spinoff of the popular horror franchise, Hello Neighbor. The game has gained such a huge player base that leaving everyone without a multiplayer would be a crime! New characters, new skills, and a playable Neighbor: all these and many other improvements are waiting for you on Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia cloud platform.

Graphics – 10/10

The new game introduces slightly improved visuals along with excellent multiplayer performance even on medium machines. The signature style of Hello Neighbor is still unchanged, but Mr.Peterson’s house has been improved a lot to match the brand new pace of the multiplayer mode. We also noticed the boost in the quality of some effects and a variety of new animations that match the characters and their abilities.

Gameplay – 10/10

The gameplay of this spin-off fully relies on team-based multiplayer mechanics. You can choose one of the new characters and join a team of 6 intrepid kids who join to investigate Mr.Peterson’s house and figure out what he hides in his secretive basement. The mission could be quite easy, but Peterson is ready to defend his secrets with a bunch of new skills. This time, his main kicker is the ability to turn into any character or object around to trick other players. What is more terrifying, is that anyone in the team (and you too) can be randomly assigned as the Neighbor. It means that you have to work in a team of people without but you can’t trust anyone of them! Isn’t that nerve-tickling?

Controls – 10/10

The game is very easy to play independently from the platform you choose. Both PC and Xbox One support keyboard and controller input, while Google Stadia offers a convenient proprietary gamepad as well. The skills of the new characters don’t require much practice but you should be ready to memorize a few new commands that weren’t available in the original game.

Replay Value – 10/10

Every next match you join in this game is unique because the players who join the game are always random and behave differently. Even if you team up with the same people every time, you can never predict who the neighbor is and what plan he or she has. Even that random pumpkin on the floor can be the Neighbor in disguise!

Pros

  • Exciting team-based multiplayer with new characters and mechanics;
  • Easy-to-learn controls and commands;
  • It’s highly replayable;
  • You can control the Neighbor sometimes!

Cons

  • Limited availability on gaming platforms.
  • No single-player;

Great

Secret Neighbor is the continuation we’ve been all waiting for since the release of the original single-player game. Developers listened to every desire of the player base and implemented as many unique features as they could. The pace of the game is perfect, while the suspense is always high enough to make everyone fear each other! It’s a great game to have fun after completing Hello Neighbor 1 and 2.
