Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout review
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a groundbreaking 2020 party game by Mediatonic and Devolver Digital that combines a 3D platformer with a 60-player battle royale multiplayer. It’s a great online space to blow off steam and meet up with your friends to challenge each other. The title is already available for Windows, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, Nintendo Switch, and mobile.
Graphics – 9/10
Of course, you can’t expect hyper-realism from a party game, but it still has enough style and authenticity to impress you! Fall Guys is powered by the Unity engine which is known as the best 3D engine for indie games. The whole game is very bright and colorful, just like candies on the shelves of the candy store. But what really matters to you as a player is physics. The way developers use ragdoll physics makes influences both visuals and gameplay. All the characters on the screen look like melting jelly beans and it’s probably the best thing about the whole.
Gameplay – 10/10
In Fall Guys, you can create a unique-looking character and join a random match with players from all over the world. There’s also an option to choose a map and join it together with your friends. All the matches take place on linear 3D levels that consist of several platforms. Due to this, you can keep moving, no matter how many times other players knock you down from a platform. The aim of every player is to pass through all the rounds without being disqualified for slowness. The only way to reach this goal is to push as many players as possible and keep running through obstacles.
Controls – 8/10
At first, the characters may seem too sluggish, but that’s actually why people keep coming to play the game. The pace of the gameplay is the same for everyone, so you should consider it as an additional challenge and a way to knock other players off the track. Depending on the platform, you can use a keyboard, a gamepad, or a touchscreen. Android and iOS devices support both touchscreen and connectible gamepads.
Replay Value – 10/10
Similar to any other battle royale game, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is made to be highly replayable. The game includes multiple levels, challenges, and developers bring regular updates to keep everyone entertained. Even if you don’t have a team to play with, you will always meet dozens of random players who will make the match unique and fun! The only drawback is that you can’t team up with players who play on different platforms.
