Best Doodle - Doodle Buddy
Best Doodle - Doodle Buddy review
Doodle Buddy is a great way to bring out the inner artist in your children, providing them with a simple drawing canvas to put their fingers to work. Considering how expensive drawing material and art supplies have become, this free iOS app affords you simplicity and cost-effectiveness right at your fingertips. The app is for both kids and amateurs.
The UI on this app is quite seamless and uncluttered. A blank white canvas marks the display, and a bottom dock with all your drawing resources and materials makes everything easy to access.
Undoing your errors is quite easy, and you don’t have to use a cumbersome rubber eraser. Material choices include brush, glitter, chalk, smudge, and eraser. You’re also able to change the thickness of the point or brush stroke that you want to use.
Your kids will definitely love the stamps with funny sounds in the background, with a collection of clip art including smileys, animals, bugs, etc.
Doodle Buddy also provides pre-drawn picture backgrounds, ranging from nature to landscapes, which you can edit and then save as a new image. You can save your photos in a common folder and export them via email or share them on Facebook.
The app works great on any device, but the experience is the best on iPad. I’ve had this app for quite a long time now, and I’ve experienced very minimal disappointments apart from one or two freezes on occasion. Lately, there have been a few intrusive ads on this app, though I understand the developers have to make money.
The features provided on this app are quite comprehensive yet simple, making it an effective learning aid for young children and hobby artists.
The app requires at least iOS 9.0 and is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. There is no Android version.
This app presents a simple interface for kids and adults alike to hone their artistic skills, while also providing great cost savings in terms of drawing materials that you don’t need to purchase. The app is optimized for iPad which may disappoint users who have alternative devices. I’d still recommend the app.
